A historic joint appearance by Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates will be made today at the D: All Things Digital conference in Carlsbad, California, organized by the Wall Street Journal.

In the world of technology, no two other figures had been as influential and iconic as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. More interestingly, they represented opposing Zens and philosophies in thought and approach to technology; Design vs. Mass Market Practicality, Open and Wild Ecosystem vs Closed and Controlled. Both will appear in a unscripted interview with Wall Street Journal tech columnists Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher.
