Important information regarding
new "Do Not Call" Registry rules
starting 2 Jan 2014

Starting from 2 January 2014, the Do Not Call (DNC) provisions under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) generally prohibits organisations from sending certain marketing messages (in the form of voice calls, text or fax messages) to Singapore telephone numbers, including mobile, fixed-line, residential and business numbers, registered with the DNC Registry.

If you are sending marketing messages via the CommzGate Cloud SMS service (including the Web Portal and API), you are responsible for the adherence to this Act and your recipient list should be checked with the DNC Registry, unless you have the recipients' clear and unambiguous consent in written or other accessible form for sending the marketing message to the Singapore telephone number. You should also include clear and accurate information identifying your organisation as well as contact details within the message. This allows the recipient to contact you for clarifications, if necessary.

If you are sending messages for purpose of system alerts, One-Time Passwords, or messages for internal communications, then you need not take any additional steps.

For API users, there are no changes to our Cloud API, your usage of our Cloud API will not be interrupted.

If you require our help to check your recipient list with the DNC Registry, please contact us. Do also feel free to ask us any questions about the new PDPA rules. More info about PDPA can be found at http://www.pdpc.gov.sg
