Realistic Internet Banking

The School of Information Systems in SMU is building a banking simulation for use in the classroom to teach banking concepts. This includes internet banking, and two-factor-authentication (2FA).

SMU had previously been using another SMS provider to send one-time passwords (OTP) for their two-factor-authentication (2FA). The reliability of the other provider is inconsistent, in that sometimes there is a long delay before students receive their SMS message.

An Easy Switch

Switching to Cloud SMS, SMU was able to easily integrate their existing simulation with Cloud API.

As Cloud SMS is the same system used by the Government and financial institutions, our OTP delivery time meets the very same standard demanded by the banking industry. Enabling SMU to provide their students a realistic 2FA system with priority sending for OTP.
